The history clearly shows us whenever a system fails, a revolution takes place from the people to rewrite the history for the betterment of the country. It have become a basic necessity for every nation. Same have happened in India when there was a foreign invasion, when the system failed. Once in the past, the Congress failed in freedom struggle which gave rise to revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and his fellow revolutionaries.
The spirit of revolution never dies. It lurks around in thoughts, inspiring the oppressed and suffered everywhere, all the time. Geographic boundaries cannot hold it back. The spirit started at Tahrir Square in Egypt (The place where revolution took place and changed the system in Egypt) that day and it is spreading fast. Thanks to the internet this spirit is flying really fast and in all directions.
Tiananmen Square is not an impossibility for the Chinese. It's just a question of time. In India already there is a lot of talk about a Revolution. The monster here is already defined. Corruption is India's Mubarak. And it has been systematically allowed access to whatever is of any little significance. The political class is ensuring the access. The bureaucracy, the judiciary, the defense services and the media are drawing the line.
If corruption has so spread its tentacles, there is no one individual in whom a Mubarak can be identified. There is no one to rally against. Hence the fear. It will take some time to rid this monster in India that is eating the very vitals. But it will happen. Again it is just a question of time. Informed minds have spoken up and made the comparisons. The search for a solution has already started.
The resolve at Tahrir square has also drawn inspiration from Revolutionaries. Their ideas have lurked there in the thoughts for quiet some time. Egypt just reminds us of what Indian revolutionaries did and how it can be done in India again. Gandhi discovered and taught the power of resolve. A few revolutionaries reformed it again to the needs. Kill us or give us what we want, was the central theme. What would have been their experiment to tame the present day Indian Mubaraks in the present situation?
A change in government every five years is not offering any solution. The lesser corrupt takes over only to catch up with the predecessor, possibly leaving them behind before the baton changes hands again. The corrupt can not be tolerated any more. They have to be identified and thereafter demolished. Time has come when the Indian Democracy can not afford to let off the corrupt by meager penalties. They have to be banished.
The resolve to kick the monster out of the system has to be made now. Those who are making the laws have to be forced to enact such laws that leave no scope for the corrupt to survive.
The internet has played its role in igniting the Egyptian revolution. No one can stop it from doing the same in India.. Form and shape will evolve as time progresses.
The question is does India need a Revolution? Yes, It does and it need it now more than ever. I’m sure everyone will say those countries are fighting against dictatorship or fighting for more civil freedom and democracy, but we have all that in India why do we need a revolution, we have the world’s largest democracy and we have freedom that is what the people in the other countries are fighting for isn’t it. My answer is, yes we have all that but the revolution I’m talking about is not for the freedom, but for betterment of the people of India. When one looks at the bottom line of the revolutions in other countries now, its for the same reasons, because the population is not getting what they deserve. The Real revolution we need is in the sphere of politics, law and mental revolution of the youth. Every government that comes to power is only focused on bringing the opposition down for the next election . How long can India act deaf and dumb? India has a lot to learn from other countries.
Bhagat Singh in jail |
March 23, 1931 was the day when 3 youngsters turned Revolutionaries named Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev who started a revolution against the British were hanged. A few young minds ignited the minds of many. Why not on this day do something different for a few minutes and think about a much needed revolution? Everything starts with a thinking. Do it now and do it fast. The country needs you !!!
